2026-2027 Benefits Guide
Choosing a Beneficiary In the event of your death, life insurance benefits are paid to your eligible named beneficiary or beneficiaries, unless prohibited by law. Accelerated Benefit The Accelerated Benefit helps offset the high cost of medical care for a terminally ill employee by allowing eligible insured employees with a life expectancy of 24 months or less to receive an advance payment of up to 100% of their life insurance benefit, to a maximum of $1,000,000 (combined Basic and Supplemental Life coverage). "Terminal Illness" means an illness or physical condition that is certified by a physician to reasonably be expected to result in death within 24 months. Please refer to the plan summary for complete details. Portability and Conversion Privilege This portability privilege allows insured to continue coverage if they terminate employment or retire. The conversion privilege allows insured to convert terminated coverage to an individual life insurance policy. Waiver of Premium Waiver of premium if available for employees disabled prior to age 60 and continues until retirement, recovery, or age 70.
