EAA Design Development Exhibit Concept Review - Questions
Freestanding Exhibits – Ref: Drawing Sheet EX-4.0 Item 4.1.1 Water Cycle Video This is currently on a monitor stand that can roll into an alternate location. With the potential ability to add a little length
to the All About the Flow wall, we may be able to integrate the monitor into the wall structure. Q: Is the video showing the water cycle still in the exhibit and is this approach accepted? Item 4.3.1 OmniGlobe
Whether this is something you may purchase now or later, it would be important for the team to know the preferred location(s). Our recommendation is to provide power in the center of the theater for one location option; and the other being over where the green screen is currently shown. We will be indicating this on a revised floor plan, as we need to try to locate all the electric power outlets sooner rather than later. This unit is better if the power supply is from the floor as an overhead cable drop will cause visual interference when viewing the globe. Item 4.1.2 Cloud Maker Q: Is this accepted? Item 4.1.4 Green Screen It is our understanding from our call, and our recommendation that this be eliminated. Q: Is this eliminated? 5.0 Watershed – Ref: Drawing Sheet EX-5.1 Q: Is the ability to add an additional aquarium still desirable? See approach shown on this drawing sheet for the future expansion plan. Otherwise we will plan on (3) 30-gallon high vertical tanks (24x24x12) Q: Is the approach to have the microscope station, attached to the wall, acceptable –OR- is the station on wheels and is currently rolled into a position up against the wall? In this format it is single-sided. Q: Is a second, double-sided microscope station desired?
6.0 Conserve and Protect This area focuses upon two different subjects: Water Conservation and Stormwater Runoff. We are currently showing one multi-user touch table. Previous concepts reviewed included a kiosk style quiz for water usage; and a kiosk style
unit for stormwater runoff (using the “game pieces” with RFID codes). Q: Where are we going on this? Is all or one on the multi-user touch table?
Graphics and Videos Q: Are we showing all text in two languages (English and Spanish) Q: Are we including captioning on all screens that have audio? On the call, Mimi suggested an internal EAA meeting to discuss, Braille, ASL, etc.
