GRAPHIC APPROACH You will find a couple of approaches to the graphic look and feel. We have bulleted design aspects for each below. You will find there is a layout within each family for the three primary walls in the room. We did this so that you would have the ability to see the design approaches from a big picture communications perspective. Approach 1.0 “Quadrants” Design is intended to be modular so that EAA can easily update and replace any given image or text panel. Sheet G-1.1: The EAA Information wall (aka the bathroom wall) consists of four panels dedicated to the EAA story and mission. Each panel features a “hero” image with supporting information. -Panel 2.5.4 contains the video monitor; -Panel 2.5.3 shows and option whereby three smaller images are included; -Panel 2.5.2 Shows the option of trilon units for information delivery; note we are suggesting a graphic icon to reinforce visitor touch the panels to turn them. The small inset shows what the “home” position would look like. Bear in mind that the “hero” image in this case has to withstand being chopped up because of the obvious gaps created by the open space. –Panel 2.5.1 shows a layout that is a hero image and text only. All photos show are just placeholders but enable you to see the available space and format. The color blocks are based upon the EAA colors. The talk-back wall (2.3) uses the texture panel as its background, scaled appropriately for the large touchscreen monitor. Sheet G-1.2: We have now moved to the aquarium wall working within this same graphic system. The tank layout is designed to be able to be expanded by one additional tank as shown in the layout to the right. The texture panel is incorporated into the overall wall to carry this visual element. Again, the images shown are placeholders to communicate size, format, and emphasis. -Panel 5.1.1/ 5.1.2 features a hero image and secondary story -Panel 5.1.4 Contains the story map touchscreen; it has an overhead directional speaker -Labels for the aquariums would be designed as overlays so that they can be easily changed. The microscope station back panel is the textured sheet to integrate into the overall scheme and give this station presence on the wall. Sheet G-1.3: As with the other panels in this system it uses a hero graphic that carries the main title. In front of this you will find a pedestal with a giant limestone sample and a “lollipop” sign that identifies it. The aquifer cross-section is a contour-cut graphic based upon one of EAA ! s diagrams. You will see a circular graphic with a drop indicated on it. This is a pushbutton to start the flow of water through each of the zones. Each zone is identified and a physical “line” divides them. We think that this diagram needs to be illustrated so it is able to be scaled larger and possibly appear more illustrative vs. diagrammatic. EAA may have other visual assets for this but this is what we have and are currently work with. The alternative is a sculpted model but again, this will require more visual reference material.
