4.3.2 The video on how contaminants can enter the aquifer is shown on a large (50”) screen with a push-to- start activation button. The background is the textured wood, unifying it with the other two walls. 4.3 is the porosity demo. 4.1 We have included a panel that introduces the Water Cycle—it has now been in the previous schemes. It is strategically located in the corner so it becomes a backdrop for the cloud maker unit. Originally this story was only on an overhead video showing a loop. There is no sound. Sheet G-1.4 This version extends rock texture from the theater into the room. The cross-section (whether a graphic or semi-sculpted) is mounted on this as the backdrop. We included a plan view to give you and idea of how far the rock extends into the room. We will be upfront and say we like this version. In part because it links it to the theater and because the aquifer cross-section is such a unique shape that quite frankly it fits better. Approach 2.0 “Quadrants 2” This is a variation on Quadrants. The key difference with this layout is that it features a single “power” word and makes the hero graphic secondary to it. The layouts remain the same with the exception of 2.3 talk-back. It is part of the overall graphic hierarchy through the consistent back panel. Approach 3.0 “Texture” Design is intended to be modular so that EAA can easily update and replace any given image or text panel. The sculpted wall panel becomes a strong connecter throughout the room providing a light neutral color. The photos become the color element to attract visitor ! s eye and content emphasis. The grid is squares but the texture panel adds a continuous fluid line for contrast. Sheet G-3.1 The EAA messaging exhibit is more compact in this version, occupying only the left section of the wall. Note that under the title “Collaboration” you will see a series of small squares. This is the option of the “flip” squares. Essentially two-sided panels recessed into the wall unit. It is the same information delivery method as the example image we sent from our Computer History Museum design. Since there has been no decision whether we are doing a trilon, or flip panels we thought it would be helpful for EAA to see what those options might look like. The flip squares do fit best in the square format. The 2.3 Talk-back panel is the same as in sheet G-1.1 BUT the big difference is in making the EAA story more compact it opens up space for a donor plaque (2.7) strategically placed at the entrance for everyone entering or exiting to see. Sheet G-3.2 This layout still has the expansion capability for the aquariums but potentially changes the story emphasis by making two larger umbrellas for individual stories to fit within. Again, the text and images you see are placeholders. Sheet G-3.3 Note that the monitor has been reduced from 50” to 42”.
